Xmas Gift Part 2

Okay, time to update my blog, I was quite busy (in lazy) until recently because of the preparation of Java Exam. It was a good experience towards my first programming certification. Anyway I got a 70% pass last Saturday (a relief after 8 months of preparation), it was tricky and took me 2 hrs, I can say it's not easy unless you've done sufficient revision.

I started another job in a large software house in HK, I also started (seriously) looking for new opportunities for the fact that being contracted to this software house. My old boss has cut my "only" benefits (medical) just before I started my new assignment which was an AWFUL, awful way of treating their employees. I've been to some interviews (handful) and all were failures until 2 weeks later (mid-Dec) I received a company which I've previously applied and asked for an interview, then I went. It was a BETTER company and I was required to finish a 30 mins Java Quiz (I call it), it wasn't that difficult when you've some Java Cert. knowledge under your belt, so it was a breeze for me. After that was an hour long interview focused on my CV. Two days later, they requested a second interview conducted by my potential line manager. Of course I was happy, but knowing my track record of second interview was always a dismal one, I couldn't expect much but do my best.

It was on Tuesday and it wasn't a lengthy one to be honest, and he has no intention to discover my education or work experiences, so I was pretty upset about his "performance" (YES). When you see this kind of person you do feel sad because it implied they weren't really interested in your achievements. "You will be notified within the week, if not, assume it is unsuccessful" he said. Dec 23rd 5:00pm, the end of the week, I was still waiting for the call and felt exhausted. I left my office at 6pm to my co-workers re-union dinner. Just before I got into the station my phone rang, it's their number!

You could guess the result.

So It was a very good xmas gift for me and what a way to finish the year 2005!
